“I’ve recently become CEO at Bethlehem House, a fantastic charity, for which I am happy to move to Tasmania, from the UK. I greatly admire the staff who work so enthusiastically and with great compassion and I’ve been blown away by the depth of feeling and support for Bethlehem House from the public. Every day we receive some kind of donation – bread, socks, toiletries, harvest festival vegetables, Easter eggs, warm jackets etc. It’s all really appreciated.
My job now is to keep on course and to help raise much needed funds so that we can do more. This year I’d like to encourage skilled people to volunteer their time to teach workshops and short courses to help our homeless men to turn their lives around and get back into the community.
I come from a background of leading disability and training organisations, managing health services and working with professional colleagues from allied health services and community programs – we all know that tackling our social problems is not a simple fix but that we need to bring a whole range of support services to bear. This I my first CEO sleepout and I’d like to make it a real success – please support me with a donation and I assure you every penny will be put to good use.”
